Please fix Vertical Aviaddxusbs smaller or screen resolution height bigger. For example, when a sign is shown in a movie, it usually appears at the bottom, so a subtitle would cover the original sign, so if the viewer wants to read it in the original language, it's kinda difficult. Generally you have to play with values in "Subtitle bitmap" to see the effect they produce in the subtitle rendering and so be able to decide the "strategy" to get your best subtitles.
It works on bit and bit Windows. You can uncheck this option but we have already test this.

Have in mind that the subtitle resolution and video resolution have no need to be the same as the rendering of subtitles is a separate process from video rendering.
At all TV resolutions p, p, wviaddxsubs and p PS3 displays subtitles correctly for sources with width I'll edit this after testing. It is a poor solution to the problem. A couple of seconds of fast forward and the flicker goes away.
